In short
The WideSplit app collects no personal data, sends nothing to the internet and contains no ads, no telemetry and no analytics. This website sets no cookies, uses no trackers and loads nothing from other servers – not even fonts.
The WideSplit app
What is stored on your device
WideSplit works entirely locally on your Windows PC. It stores in your user profile:
- Settings: segments, layouts, keyboard shortcuts, rules (with the names of programs you create rules for) and display profiles (monitor models, resolutions, arrangement).
- Log: technical messages for troubleshooting, such as program names, monitor names and file paths. Window titles and window contents are not logged.
This data never leaves your PC. Windows usually removes it when you uninstall WideSplit; otherwise it is located
in %APPDATA%\WideSplit and %LOCALAPPDATA%\WideSplit and can be deleted there.
Purchase and license
Purchase, payment and the trial are handled by the Microsoft Store. WideSplit checks the license through Windows' Store interface; Microsoft processes data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We receive no payment or account data.
This website
Own server, no access logs
The website runs on the operator's own server in Germany; no external hosting provider is involved. To deliver the site, the server necessarily processes your IP address when you visit (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Access logs are not stored. Only in case of technical errors may an error log containing the IP address be created; it is deleted after 7 days at the latest. The certificate for the encrypted connection comes from Let's Encrypt; no visitor data is transferred in the process.
No cookies, no trackers
We use no cookies, no analytics or advertising services and no embedded third-party content. Fonts and images are served from our own server.
Contact by email
If you email us, we process your address and message only to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, to data portability and to object to processing (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
